Designed by ATO Architects, Centro Lekki Mall represents a contemporary retail development aimed at redefining neighbourhood shopping and commercial interaction within Lekki, Lagos. Conceived between 2011 and completed in 2013, the project was developed to provide a modern, efficient, and engaging retail environment while responding to the evolving commercial landscape of Lagos.

The development comprises 28 retail units distributed across two levels, with each shop designed to include private conveniences and direct access via sheltered circulation corridors. At the heart of the scheme lies a central courtyard, intentionally designed as a flexible social and commercial space serving multiple functions including relaxation areas for shoppers, promotional events, and spillover seating for cafés and eateries.

A multifunctional pent floor was incorporated into the design, providing additional adaptable space alongside access to independent outdoor terraces. The architectural language adopts clean lines, restrained modernism, and understated detailing, reflecting both the client’s aspirations and the need for a timeless retail environment capable of adapting to changing commercial demands.

The project demonstrates ATO Architects’ ability to deliver commercially focused developments that balance functionality, user experience, and contemporary design principles, contributing to the continued transformation of Lekki as one of Lagos’ most dynamic urban districts.
