1980s

ATO Architects was born in the 1980s, sparked by a winning design for the squash court complex at Ikoyi Club 1938. This decade laid the foundation for our legacy, with early commissions primarily in the banking and financial sectors. Our style reflected the bold postmodern and neo-classical influences of the time, setting the tone for decades of innovation.

1990s

In the 1990s, ATO Architects expanded its reach and deepened its design ethos. We secured a string of competitive bids and key institutional projects, reinforcing our reputation for design integrity and project delivery. Our work began to shape the architectural identity of Nigeria’s emerging urban centres.

2000s

This decade marked a period of diversification and innovation. ATO took on complex, large-scale projects including corporate head offices, high-rise buildings, and educational institutions. We embraced digital drafting and early BIM tools, integrating technology into our workflows while strengthening client relationships across sectors.

2010s

The 2010s saw ATO evolve into a multidisciplinary powerhouse, launching subsidiaries like AT & D Estates, ATO Properties, and ATO Studios. Our work extended beyond architecture into development, construction, and facility management — creating integrated, end-to-end solutions for the built environment.

2020 -

ATO Architects operates across Africa, the UK, and Europe — blending design excellence with VR, 3D printing, and BIM. From housing to landmarks, our work shapes impactful spaces. We're now exploring AI to streamline design and unlock new creative potential.
